G3 partners with MHS agriculture students to grow garden plants for community
Greening Greater Greenfield (G3) has partnered with agriculture students at McClain High School to help make garden plants and marigolds available for community residents.
G3 has agreed to purchase the seeds that were planted in the greenhouses near the vocational building by agricultural science teacher Michael Sykes and his VoAg and FFA students.
The tomatoes, peppers and other garden plants will be big enough to plant outside soon for residents wishing to start gardens. The plants will be arranged in "starter kits" and offered to local residents on several dates in the near future – dates and more information to be announced soon.

While no one will be charged for the plants, if anyone wishes to make a donation, Mr. Sykes said the money would be passed along to the local food pantry.
G3 "Greenfield Gardens" future plans include canning and freezing workshops, along with a celebration of harvest.
Through a combination of practical, inspirational and just plain fun activities like the Greenfield Oktoberfest and Blues, Brews and Stews, G3 strives to enhance business, education, recreation and a “green and clean” lifestyle in the Greenfield community.
