Firefighters conduct training exercises

Members from the Hillsboro Fire & Rescue and Paint Creek Joint EMS and Fire District held a joint training session on Tuesday, Nov. 13.

Firefighters were trained on the set up and operations of Hillsboro's Tower/Ladder truck.

Each firefighter had an opportunity to operate the ladder.

Hillsboro Fire and Rescue Captain Jeff Stethem instructed the class on the equipment that the truck carries, the truck's pumping capacity, and how to position the apparatus at the scene.

He explained that the ladder truck is set up for fire suppression as well as rope rescue.

Firefighters also went over all the safety issues while setting up and operating the ladder truck.
