Firefighters battled a blaze at a home off of Roush Road on Tuesday afternoon.

The home, owned by Robert “Bob” Quickle, was destroyed by the fire.

“It really hurts,” Quickle said. “No one was home at the time, and we don’t know what happened. Except for some things in the garage, we lost everything we have. But possessions can be replaced – people can’t, and I’m thankful no one was hurt.”[[In-content Ad]]A neighbor said he heard an explosion, and when he went outside, he said he saw flames coming from the back of the home at 5417 Roush Road. He was able to round up the Quickles’ dogs, who were not hurt by the blaze.

The fire is under investigation, and representatives from the state fire marshal’s office and the Red Cross were on the scene late Tuesday afternoon.
