Dori Bishop resigns from waste management district

After almost a decade of service, Highland County Outreach Specialist with the Ross, Pickaway, Highland, Fayette Joint Solid Waste Management District Dori Bishop has resigned.
Bishop submitted her letter of resignation Wednesday to the Highland County Board of Commissioners.
"This was not an easy decision for me to make," Bishop told commissioners. "I appreciate the opportunities I have been given in Highland County and the district and I thank you for your guidance and support."
Bishop agreed to work part-time, if requested, to help with the transition in her office. She has accepted another position in Clinton County.
"You have done a wonderful job and made a real difference in the county," Commissioner Gary Heaton said. "We really hate to lose you."
In other action, commissioners approved the following resolutions, all by 3-0 votes:
• The declaration of the property at 144 West Main Street, Hillsboro, to be surplus property.
• The authorization of a transfer to Soil & Water from the General Fund as follows: from Agriculture, Soil & Water Conservation, to Soil & Water, in the amount of $15,000. This transfer is the balance of the funds committed to Soil & Water for the 2010 budget.
• The Highland County Commissioners proclaimed April 2010 as Sexual Assault Awareness Month.[[In-content Ad]]
