Disability Rights Ohio shares voting rights reminders for Ohioans with disabilities
Ohioans with disabilities need to know their voting rights. Disability Rights Ohio's "Plan Your Vote" easily helps those cast their ballots.
Ohioans head to the polls Tuesday to cast their votes for a president, U.S. Senator, as well as many other statewide offices and key local races. Disability Rights Ohio (DRO) has created “Plan Your Vote,” a program that helps to ensure all voters, including those living with disabilities, can easily cast their ballot. In many cases, this assistance is critical.
DRO reminds voters to know the following:
• You have the right to get help from a poll worker.
• You have the right to vote curbside if you cannot enter your polling location due to your disability.
• You have the right to take as long as you need to vote.
DRO’s voting hotline is open on Election Day from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The number is (800) 282-9181. Voters can also call DRO’s intake line at 614-466-7264.
Voting information can be found on DRO’s website at: https://disabilityrightsohio.org/news/advocacymatters-plan-your-vote-63….
Publisher's note: A free press is critical to having well-informed voters and citizens. While some news organizations opt for paid websites or costly paywalls, The Highland County Press has maintained a free newspaper and website for the last 25 years for our community. If you would like to contribute to this service, it would be greatly appreciated. Donations may be made to: The Highland County Press, P.O. Box 849, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133. Please include "for website" on the memo line.
