Highland County Community Action Organization's "Adopt A Family" program is still in need of donations for the 2012 Christmas season.
Highland County Prosecutor Anneka Collins told county commissioners and those in attendance at the Nov. 21 board meeting that anyone wishing to contribute to this year's program may contact Angie Mustard at Community Action at 393-3458.
The program seeks to match eligible needy families and children with existing community programs and private donors, as well as ensuring all needy children receive holiday gifts this season.
Last year, the program assisted more than 200 local families and there is an even greater need this year, Collins said.
The families that receive the "adoption" service must have children, with an income under 100 percent of the federal poverty guideline. That means that a family of four has a household income of $22,350 or less.
Those wishing to adopt a family may contact Angie Mustard at Highland County Community Action at 393-3458.
