Commissioners welcome new Board of DD superintendent

New Highland County Board of DD Superintendent Debra Buccilla and Board of DD President Sam Snyder met with the Highland County Board of Commissioners Wednesday, Sept. 17.
Snyder introduced Buccilla to commissioners Shane Wilkin, Tom Horst and Jeremy Shaffer at this week's meeting.
"Deb began as superintendent on Sept. 1 and had her first board meeting last night," Snyder said. "She has a great deal of experience in the public sector and private sector. She is a former president of the Fairfield County Board of DD."

Snyder explained that Buccilla divides her time as superintendent of both the Highland County Board of DD and the Fayette County Board of DD.
Buccilla informed commissioners that she recently moved from Fairfield County to Highland County, after purchasing a home in the Rocky Fork Lake State Park region.
Buccilla has 35 years of experience in developmental disabilities, including working at the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.
"I'm happy to be here," she said. "There's lots going on. There's lots to do. I love what's going on at Hills and Dales."
Commissioners thanked Buccilla and Snyder for their work with the Board of DD.
