In conjunction with National Hospital Week, the Highland County Board of Commissioners proclaimed May 12-16 as Hospital Week in Highland County during the Wednesday, May 7 board meeting.

Highland District Hospital CEO Jim Baer and HDH employees Lindsay Wildey and Melanie Phillips accepted the proclamation from commissioners Shane Wilkin, Tom Horst and Jeremy Shaffer.

Highland District Hospital celebrated its 100th anniversary earlier this month.

Jim Baer, CEO of Highland District Hospital, thanked commissioners and expressed his appreciation to the HDH staff for proudly serving the community.

Baer also mentioned the hospital's recent $1 million capital improvement projects, which include a new state-of-the-art Ultrasound System, a new drug distribution system and a new endoscopy medical system.

The theme for Hospital Week is "exceptional care, extraordinary people."
