Highland County Clerk of Courts Ike Hodson has received approval of Highland County Commissioners Shane Wilkin, Tom Horst and Jeremy Shaffer for a transfer of funds to the Highland County Sheriff's Office.

Commissioners approved a resolution Wednesday to transfer $28,000 from the Certificate of Title fund in the clerk's office to the motor vehicle account in the sheriff's office.

The funds will be used to purchase a new 2013 Dodge Charger from Greve Chrysler-Jeep in Van Wert for an HCSO cruiser.

According to Horst, the clerk of courts had made the recommendation that these funds be transferred back to the county's general fund to be appropriated for this purpose.
