Cleanup continues on District 9 roadways

Following another winter storm, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation - District 9 continue their efforts to clear the state highway system.

Snowplow operators from the highway maintenance facilities in Adams, Brown, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties have been plowing and treating the roads since Friday night, and conditions have improved significantly.

Most primary routes are becoming clear and wet, and crews are working to clear remaining snow and slush from all roadways, after approximately 5 inches of snow fell across much of the area.

Whenever winter storms strike, ODOT crews will be working hard to clear the roads; however, motorists need to exercise additional caution at all times. By reducing their speed and allowing additional travel time, drivers can do much to share the road more safely with other motorists and snowplow operators.
