A terrific crowd was on hand Wednesday evening for the Highland County Chamber of Commerce’s annual membership dinner, held at the Patriot Center at Southern State Community College. This year’s dinner was a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the chamber.
Drew Hastings, nationally performing comedian and a Highland County resident, was the guest speaker.
Representatives from numerous area businesses, public offices, civic organizations and academic institutions attended and supported the event.
Chamber of Commerce President Katy Farber thanked everyone in attendance, as well as the college.
“(This) event is evidence of the strong support that the Highland County business community has for the Chamber and the purpose that it serves as an advocate, promoter and supporter of enterprise in our area,” Farber said.
“Over 250 representatives from Highland County businesses, organizations, political entities and individuals who support the efforts to join together to sustain and grow the economic base within our county made themselves known at the Chamber’s annual dinner. I am grateful for the ongoing support and look forward to continuing and growing our many programs to the local business community.”
