On Jan. 11, Jeff Bloom of Ralph Bloom Trucking, Joe Reno, a representative of Woodmen of the World, and Donnie Barrera, driver/representative of Ralph Bloom Trucking, traveled to Hurricane, W.Va. to deliver bottled water to those affected by the recent contamination following the release of thousands of gallons of 4-methylcyclohexane methanol from a storage facility into the Elk River.

Bloom, Reno and Barrera invested their time, equipment and resources to collect bottled water to take to Hurricane, where drinking water has been scarce since last week's contamination. The bottled water was trucked to the area through the donated resources of Ralph Bloom Trucking and Woodmen of the World.

The West Virginia water restriction affected 300,000 residents.

The West Virginia American Water Co. said it had lifted the do-not-use order for 26,000 customers by the end of the day on Monday, Jan. 13, with more customers getting water services restored this week.

The contamination also reached the Ohio River and was passing through the Cincinnati area this week. Officials there were prepared and had turned off the water intakes for Hamilton County residents.
