Batavia OSHP Post investigating fatal crash

The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash. The crash occurred Sept. 16 at approximately 8:10 p.m. on US 50 near mile post 3 in Miami Township, Clermont County.

The preliminary investigation showed a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse, operated by Lisa Colwell, 54, of Bethel, was traveling southeast on US 50. A bicycle operated by Michael Robinson, 70, of Fairmont, Neb. was traveling southeast on US 50. The vehicle operated by Ms. Colwell allegedly struck Mr. Robinson’s bicycle from behind.

Ms. Colwell was transported to the Anderson Mercy Hospital for precautionary reasons with no apparent injuries. Mr. Robinson sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was declared deceased at the scene by the Clermont County Coroner.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Milford Police Department, Milford Fire and EMS, Miami Township Fire and EMS, and Miami Township Police Department.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
