Adena plans open house for prospective nursing students

Adena Health System will host a Nursing Open House on Monday, Dec. 10 from noon-4:30 p.m. The event will be held in the PACCAR Medical Education Center, located at 446 Hospital Road, on the Chillicothe campus of Adena Medical Center.

Representatives from Wright State University (WSU) and Southern State Community College will be on hand to meet with anyone interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

In addition, academic advisors will be available to discuss qualifications, view transcripts and answer questions.

At the Adena campus, WSU’s College of Nursing and Health holds a new BSN cohort each spring semester. The next cohort begins January 2013, and openings are still available. Students enrolled in this cohort will graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in the fall of 2014.

“This is an ideal opportunity for local students who have been working toward a nursing degree, or for the nurse who wants to take his or her career to the next level,” said Lisa Filyo, WSU at Adena academic advisor.

Students are encouraged to attend the open house to learn the steps necessary to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. The open house will help prospective students learn about the BSN program offered by Wright State University and courses available through Southern State Community College’s program. Both schools hold courses at Adena’s PACCAR Education Center.

Anyone interested in the nursing education programs available at Adena may call (740) 779-8558 by phone or visit www.wright.edu/nursing/prog_info/AdenaBSN.html.
