In light of the national and local resurgence of influenza and other respiratory illnesses, Adena Medical Center in Chillicothe and Adena Greenfield Medical Center in Greenfield announce that visitor restrictions will be implemented immediately to assist in minimizing the spread of respiratory illnesses that may include the H1N1 and Seasonal Flu virus to hospital patients, healthcare workers and the community. The community should note the following restrictions: No visitation by anyone who is ill with any respiratory symptoms including coughing, fever, etc. No visitation by anyone under the age of 14 years of age. These restrictions only refer to inpatient hospital visitations. As a reminder, symptoms of the flu include fever, coughing and/or sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, headaches and/or body aches, chills and fatigue. To assist with reducing the spread of influenza, if you have these symptoms, please stay home and recuperate. Please be sure to cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze, wash your hands often with soap and water or utilize alcohol-based hand cleaners, and avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Be sure to seek medical treatment right away if you or someone you are caring for has difficulty breathing, chest pain, purple or blue discoloration of the lips, is vomiting and unable to keep liquids down, has signs of dehydration such as dizziness when standing, absence of urine, or in infants - the absence of tears when they cry, seizures or convulsions, unresponsive or confused. For more information, log on to www.flu.gov. Adena appreciates the public's cooperation and understanding. [[In-content Ad]]
