1,255 cited in Ohio during 6-State Trooper Project’s distracted driving enforcement

The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) joined forces with other members of the 6-State Trooper Project to focus on distracted driving enforcement. During the project, 1,255 people in Ohio were charged with distracted driving.

The distracted driving enforcement effort included the Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Pennsylvania State Police, West Virginia State Police and OSHP. The initiative began Monday, April 1 at 12:01 a.m. and continued through Monday, April 8 at 11:59 p.m.

Collectively, troopers from the 6-State Trooper Project cited 1,895 people during the enforcement effort.

The 6-State Trooper Project is a multi-state law enforcement partnership aimed at providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and intelligence sharing.
