WHS Drama Club presents dinner theatre May 11-12

The Whiteoak Drama Club/Thespian Troupe 6931 will present "The Peadmont Express," a murder mystery written by WHS sophomore Victoria Voiles, Friday, May 11, and Saturday, May 12 in the high school cafeteria, with dinner at 6 p.m. and the show at 6:30 p.m.

Set on a train traveling across Europe in the Jazz Age, the drama invites audience participation as the characters try to unravel the apparently whacky killings occurring on their luxury journey.

A full meal with dessert will be catered by Lake Manor Restaurant of Mt. Orab for both of the performances. Coffee roasted especially for the club by Back Room Coffee Roasters of Columbus, will be among the beverage options.

Tickets for the meal and show are $20, payable at the door. Some additional seats for patrons wishing to see the performance only will be available on Saturday evening. All seats must be reserved.

Contact a member of the WHS Drama Club, or call Ms. Countryman at the high school, 937-442-2241, ext 1210 before April 30. Proceeds from the show will benefit the club's travel/stage improvement fund.

Cast members include: senior thespian Dakota Sobotka as Joshua the Porter; senior Alli Jeffries as the Hostess/Ticket Agent; Senior Dylan Campbell as Laurence; junior Tisha Howlett as The Flapper; author Victoria Voiles and seventh-grader Faith Lane sharing the role of Camella; sophomore thespian Destinee Godbey as Fransas; freshman Tate Chambers as Mikhail the Sophisticated Russian; freshman Cole Lane as the Waiter; eighth-grader Ridge Ballein as the American businessman; and sixth-grader Katie Pietropinto as the Maid. Senior Jay Dalton will work with the lighting for the show. Junior thespian Daniel Miller designed the set. Junior thespian Maria Brewer will do makeup.

Awards and induction of new thespians will take place at the Saturday performance.
