Whiteoak High School Service Learning students and the Lady Cats basketball team have join forces for the Bright Food Pantry.

On Saturday, Nov. 19, the Whiteoak girls basketball team and Service Learning class hosted the first Hoops for Hunger basketball tournament at WHS.

There were 11 teams from the SHL and SBAAC leagues that participated. The turnout was amazing, making $300 and collecting four large boxes of canned goods.

The school would like to thank Coach Cooper and the basketball teams for participating and helping the community.

Also, a big thank you to all the sponsors: 1st Stop, Butterbees, Chatfield College, Merchants National Bank, Carraher AG. Co., National Bank and Trust, Ferguson Security, and Lady Cats basketball, for their support in sponsoring  T-shirts for each player.
