Whiteoak students perform in Honor Band

Amanda Allen, Maria Brewer, and Nick Wishart participated in the Ohio Music Education Association District 16 Honor Band this past weekend.

The honor band was held at Waverly High School.

Students from six counties auditioned to be members of the honor band.

Students rehearsed Friday night, all day on Saturday, and performed a concert on Sunday.

The band was under the direction of Scott Woodard who is the director of bands at West Virginia State University.

The students learned music from Brahms to Irving Berlin.
