Bright Local Schools is proud to recognize Whiteoak High School senior Marley Gobin as the recipient of the prestigious Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award, representing our county at the state level.

Marley was honored during the 37th Annual Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Awards Program, held at the Ohioan Hotel & Event Center in Lewis Center, Ohio. This distinguished recognition celebrates one senior from each of Ohio’s 88 counties who exemplifies outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to community service.

Nominated through our local Southern Ohio Educational Service Center, recipients are selected based on their academic performance, test scores, school involvement, community engagement, and overall contributions. Marley’s selection reflects not only academic excellence, but also a strong dedication to making a positive impact both in and out of the classroom.

“In order to achieve this level of success, these students have demonstrated a commitment to excellence, resilience, and grit,” said OESCA Executive Director Craig Burford. For nearly four decades, the Ohio Educational Service Center Association (OESCA) has recognized over 2,800 of Ohio’s top student leaders through this program.

The award is named in honor of Franklin B. Walter, Ohio’s thirty-first State Superintendent of Public Instruction, and was established in 1989 to recognize students who excel academically while demonstrating meaningful service to their schools and communities.

Marley’s accomplishment is a reflection of her hard work, character, and commitment to excellence. She represents the very best of Whiteoak High School and Bright Local Schools.
