Principal resignation, change of status approved at HCS board's special meeting
During a 10-minute special meeting held Thursday, Oct. 2, members of the Hillsboro City Schools Board of Education approved a change in principals at the elementary school.
The board began by accepting the resignation of second/third grade principal Robert MacLeod, effective Sept. 30. The district declined to comment on the reason for the resignation.
MacLeod was hired in May 2024 and had previously served as a principal in the Bethel-Tate district.
The Hillsboro board also approved a change of status for Ryan Hagan, from assistant principal to principal, effective Oct. 1.
Hagan is no stranger to the district, having graduated from Hillsboro High School. The board had previously approved a one-year certificated contract for Hagan as assistant principal in July.
No other business was conducted at the meeting. The board’s next regular meeting is set for Oct. 20.
