LC FFA Parliamentary Procedure team places first

On Dec. 1, the Lynchburg-Clay FFA Parliamentary Procedure team competed at the Sub-District competition at the Hillsboro High School. The team was awarded first place in the Highland County competition. 

The purpose of the Parliamentary Procedure contest is to help students develop qualities that are necessary to use during a business meeting. It took many weeks of preparation, in the early mornings and after school to strengthen team skills. The team gained the knowledge of 22 abilities and the complete understanding of the Parliamentary-Procedure rules. 

Lynchburg-Clay’s team competed again on Dec. 3, at Western Brown High School in the District 9 contest and placed fifth overall against the eight teams present.

The 10 members included, Rachel Clonch; President, Erin Rowlands; Secretary, Tonya Fender; Vice President, Brad Keltner; Treasurer, Carissa Truman; Reporter, Daisy Christophel; Student Adviser, Lisa Rhonemus; Sentinel, and the three members were Robin Clonch, Jayona Griffith, and Andrew Chaney, and alternate member Kayla Campbell.
