Laurel Oaks honors Students of the Month for February

Four Laurel Oaks students were honored by their teachers and peers as Students of the Month for February 2012.
 
Academic:
Junior Lucas Wilson – Industrial Diesel, Wilmington
Rob Robinson, English Instructor, says, “Lucas participates well in every activity. I can always count on him to produce model work. He also volunteers to help with things such as peer tutoring.”
 
Senior Thea Arpan – Health Technology, Hillsboro
Scott Anderson, Guidance Counselor says, “Thea is quiet and reserved; however, she works extremely hard in her classes. She is well respected by her peers and staff.”
 
These students were chosen for their good grades, excellent work in classes, leadership, attendance and the support they showed their programs, the Laurel Oaks Campus, their home school and their community.
 
Character:
Junior October Huston – Health Technology, Wilmington
Scott Anderson, Guidance Counselor, says, “October is always leading by example. She is compassionate and concerned for others. She has taken time to help tutor peers who need additional help during Extra Help Friday.”
 
Senior – Ashley Rayburn-Cosmetology-Greenfield
Debby Neu, Cosmetology Instructor, says, “She interacts well with peers, avoids the drama and is reliable, dependable and fair. Ashley sets a great example for Laurel Oaks, representing us well at her home school while being involved in cheerleading and school plays.”
 
These students were chosen for their positive attitude character traits, working to their full potential, excellent behavior in class and on school grounds, work completed on time, tolerance and acceptance of others, good character, hard work and honesty.[[In-content Ad]]
