L-C FFA holds annual auction, participates in adopt-a-family program

The Lynchburg-Clay FFA Chapter has participated in several activities and events during the month of throughout 2011 and into 2012.
On Jan. 18, the L-C FFA chapter enjoyed a trip to Dave & Busters. There were a total of 27 students that attended this reward trip. In order to attend, members had to have earned at least 30 points by attending various FFA activities throughout the year. The trip was a successful and fun event.
In December, the students participated in the adopt-a-family. A group of students took a trip to Kmart on Dec. 1 and purchased items to help a family with two children residing in the Lynchburg-Clay School District. Throughout the week of Dece. 1 students in the school were allowed to wear hats and shorts for a quarter. The student donations combined with outside donations totaled about $300.
On Nov. 19, the chapter held their annual equipment consignment auction, with the assistance of Hess Auction. There were 51 different consigners that participated in the auction. Over 258 items were sold in the auction that varied from tractors to livestock equipment to lumber and farm equipment. As always the Hess Auction Company ran a very successful auction. The FFA members assisted the auctioneers, parked cars, sold concessions, and recorded transactions. The auction was a success and The Lynchburg-Clay FFA would like to thank all of our buyers, sellers, and the Hess Auction Company. A special thanks to Bob Banks, Mike Christophel, Ernie Landess, Jason McKee, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Rhonemus, Kara Setty and Chris West for helping with loading and unloading the equipment and assisting in the concession stand.
In June 2011, 11 students attended a trip to King's Island. The students who attended included: PJ Berwanger, Colt Mootz, Blaize Sellman, Laney Lewis, Emma Setty, Melissa Blankenship, Hannah West, Andrew Chaney, Erin Rowlands, Carissa Truman, and Kristina Ahrmann. The trip was chaperoned by Stacie McKee, Kara Setty and Sandy West.
