We are proud to recognize Whiteoak High School senior Austin Richards for his exemplary commitment to our community through his recent Eagle Scout project.
Austin chose to focus his efforts on enhancing the facilities of Bright Local Schools by constructing new benches for both Bright Elementary and Whiteoak High School. This initiative not only showcases his dedication to improving our schools, but also aligns seamlessly with the core values of the Eagle Scout program, which emphasizes leadership, community service and personal development.
The Eagle Scout Service Project is a pivotal component of achieving the highest rank in Scouting, requiring candidates to plan, develop, and lead a project that benefits an organization other than the Boy Scouts of America. Austin's decision to invest his time and skills into creating functional and aesthetically pleasing seating areas for our students and staff exemplifies these principles. His project has provided much-needed outdoor seating, fostering a more inviting environment for learning and social interaction.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Austin for his hard work, leadership and commitment to service. His contributions have made a lasting impact on our school community, and we are proud to have him as a member of the senior class at Whiteoak High School.
