Radio Disney and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield have partnered to bring the Get Active, Get Fit School Challenge to schools throughout Ohio.

Students in kindergarten through sixth grade at Fairfield Local Schools participated in this challenge. Ther goal was for all students to "get active and get fit" for at least 20 minutes every day for a minimum of 40 of the 55 days.

Ninety-six percent of Fairfield Local students participated, and the school was among the Top 20 schools in the State of Ohio to win a Radio Disney Dance party school assembly including 60 minutes of music, games and dancing.  This "party" is scheduled for the end of March.

Breakfast Poster Contest winners announced

Fairfield Schools offer breakfast every day to each student. Administrators and teachers promote the importance of a good, healthy breakfast to start the school day.

To encourage students to eat breakfast, for four days in December, all Fairfield students received a free, hot breakfast. Students were served a "grab-n-go" breakfast to take to their classroom.

Students in grades K-6 participated in a "Why Breakfast is Important" poster contest in December.  One student's poster from each K-6 classroom was selected as the best representation of the theme.
