CMH's Morrow passes medical coding exams

Erin Morrow, an outpatient revenue cycle specialist for Clinton Memorial Hospital, has recently passed both her certified professional coder (CPC) and certified coding specialist (CCS) examinations offered through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

Morrow, of Sabina, passed the AHIMA certified coding associate (CCA) exam in 2010.

Morrow has worked at CMH for eight years, three in Medical Records/Health Information Management.

She has a medical office coding specialist certificate from Sinclair Community College and is currently enrolled at Sinclair to earn her associate’s degree in health Information management.

Medical coders are professionals skilled in classifying medical data from patient records in a hospital setting and physician’s office. These coding practitioners review patients’ records and assign numeric codes for diagnosis and procedure.
