The Hillsboro City Schools District Board of Education hereby gives notice that it will hold a public meeting pursuant to the provisions of R.C. 3307.353 to consider the re-employment of Cassandra Adkins, Tara Gilliland, Donica Grow, Jenna Horick, Diane Michael and Heather Murphy as superannuates to the same position from which each of them previously retired.  

Gary Hirsch told the Class of 2026 to become improvisers, since uncertainty in life is inevitable. He offered some sage advice as a career improviser on navigating uncertainty with intention and grace. An artist, author and creative leader, Hirsch presented an interactive keynote address at Saturday, May 9’s Wilmington College’s 150th Commencement titled “Radical Collaboration with the World Around You.”

This spring, Greenfield fifth-graders used their creative talent to raise money for Shriners, and last week they were able to give to the organization what the auctioning of their artwork earned.

Mowrystown FFA Ag Day 2026 was a huge success. Students from Bright Elementary got to engage and learn about how to take care of farm animals and about the environment.

Members of the McClain FFA Chapter recently showcased their research skills and agricultural knowledge at the Ohio FFA Agriscience Fair, earning numerous top-four finishes at the state level.

The Cassner Foundation Scholarship was established by Mr. and Mrs. Alvin B. Cassner. At least six $3,500 scholarships are awarded annually to Highland County high school seniors.  

On Friday, May 1, during the fourth session of the 98th Ohio FFA State Convention, Cameron Burkard and Delaina Southworth were both recognized for their hard work throughout the year.

On May 1, a record-breaking 13 members of the Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA chapter received their state degrees at the Ohio State FFA Convention. 

Hillsboro High School juniors and seniors recently attended our 7th Annual Student Job Fair, also known as the Senior Showcase.

Civic Futures Institute and America 250-Ohio gathered leaders at the Ohio Statehouse Wednesday to introduce American Exchange Project in Ohio. The organizations announced a bold new vision and an ambitious investment in civic connection in up to 20 Ohio communities in 2027.
