Department of Development announces $3.6 million in grants to support housing programs

The Ohio Department of Development this week announced more than $3.6 million in grants to support housing-related projects and services that help strengthen communities and improve access to affordable housing.

Twelve nonprofit organizations will receive funding through the Ohio Housing Trust Fund Special Project Grant Program to support locally driven housing initiatives such as emergency shelters, senior housing, workforce training, and veteran housing developments.

Together, these investments will improve and expand housing opportunities across the state while connecting residents to essential services, job training, and pathways to stability.

“Every Ohioan deserves a safe, stable place to call home,” said Lydia Mihalik, director of the Department of Development. “Through the Ohio Housing Trust Fund, we’re helping our local partners meet this growing need by providing vital resources that build stronger neighborhoods, expand opportunity, and improve the quality of life for people in every corner of the state.”

The Ohio Housing Trust Fund provides funding for a full range of housing activities including rental assistance, home repair, housing counseling, and supportive services for low-income Ohioans.

In total, $3,614,639 is being awarded to the following organizations:
