Danny Irvin Hoop
Danny Irvin Hoop, 80, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, May 16, 2025 at his home.
He was born April 26, 1945 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Irvin and Margene Hill Hoop.
A lifelong farmer and craftsman at heart, Danny lived a life rooted in hard work, generosity and love for the land. Danny was known for his passion for woodworking. With skilled hands and a creative mind, he crafted beautiful cutting boards and repurposed whiskey barrels into one-of-a-kind pieces. His appreciation for antique tractors reflected his deep connection to the land and farming. More than anything, Danny loved people. His giving spirit touched everyone who knew him. Whether lending a hand or sharing a laugh, Danny had a way of making others feel seen and valued. He was the kind of person who never met a stranger, and his kindness left a lasting impression in every life he touched.
Danny was a member of the Fall Creek Friends Church and proudly served his country in the Ohio National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Patty” Arnott Hoop, whom he married Dec. 19, 1965; his children, Bruce Irvin (Jennifer) Hoop and Kelly Marie (Rich) Parry, both of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Remi (Brooklin) Parry, Taylor (Blake) Stevens, and Richie (Meghan) Parry; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Duncan, Reagan Parry, Richard Morgan Parry, Bexleigh Stevens, Berkleigh Stevens and Bryson Dotson; sisters, Vivian (Les) Garman and Debbie (Richard) VanZant, both of Hillsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Danny’s wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held privately at the convenience of the family. For more information or to leave an online condolence for the family, please visit www.turnerfuneralhomes.cc.
