Patricia Ann "Pat" Gregory

Patricia Ann "Pat" Gregory, 91, departed this earthly life on Dec. 20, 2024. 

She was born Oct. 1, 1933 in Marietta, Ohio, to Dick and Florence (Nealis) Schenk.  

Her truly altruistic life was eventually overcome in recent years by dementia. She was a loving mother to Sarah (Gregory) Flaherty, Susan Gregory-Conley, and Will Gregory. Pat is also survived by her grandchildren, Clay Flaherty, Keely Flaherty, and Ryan, Tyler, and Serena Gregory.
 
Pat had most recently lived in Jackson, Ohio, but spent many years raising her children in Hillsboro, Ohio. She started her family with Bill Gregory in Point Pleasant, W.Va. She was an elementary school teacher for over 30 years and was known for her kindness and overwhelming devotion to her students and fellow teachers. She even painted huge, wonderful hallway drawings of animals for her students at Lynchburg Elementary School.
 
Pat earned a degree in home economics from Marietta College. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking a nightly meal for her children, who also have fond memories of homemade bread and cinnamon rolls on most Sundays while growing up. Whenever Pat was near, you could count on three things: Great food, self-sacrificing hospitality and an inspired laugh.
 
A memorial service for Pat will take place on Dec. 28 at 3 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson. Visitation will be held immediately prior from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
