Timothy Lee Beatty

Timothy Lee Beatty, 70, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Adena Greenfield Medical Center.
 
He was born May 1, 1954 in Greenfield, the son of Floyd Beatty and Betty V. McQuay.
 
Tim was a 1972 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed refereeing, mowing his yard, gardening and above all, being a papaw to all his grandchildren.
 
He was a referee for over 20 years, and a member of both Chillicothe and Wilmington Basketball Officials Association. He was an avid supporter of the McClain Tigers, Cincinnati Bengals, OSU Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds. He retired as a supervisor from Greenfield Products in 2019 after five years of employment, and was previously employed for 42 years at Candle-lite of Leesburg as a production supervisor.
 
He is survived by his wife, Sherri (Cockerill) Beatty; two sons, Shaun (Brittany) Beatty of Greenfield and Nik (Kiersten) Beatty of Greenfield; one daughter, Linzey (Taylor) Gallion of Greenfield; and a special “daughter-like” niece, Jaci (Scott) Raike of Greenfield; eight grandchildren, Memphis, Anzli, Lincoln, Grayson, Zeke, Zane, Brighton and Sunny; two special great-nieces, Brooklyn and Bailey; and one special great-nephew, Cade; two sisters, Doris Bolens of Arizona and Kimberly (Bryan) Brewer of Greenfield; one brother, Raymond Beatty of Hillsboro; one sister-in-law, Judy Beatty of Greenfield; numerous other half- and step-brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn (Roger) Sever; three brothers, Marty Beatty, Steve (Cindy) Beatty and Bruce (Suzan) Beatty; his father, Floyd Beatty; and mother, Betty Garrison.
 
A celebration of life will be 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 24 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Terry Washburn officiating. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
