Harold Leland Farquer
Harold Leland Farquer, 71, of Hillsboro, formerly of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 29, 2024 at Bell Gardens Place, with his family by his side.
He was born Jan. 19, 1953, in Lynchburg, the son of the late James C Farquer and Freida (Amiot) Farquer Hall.
Harold was a dedicated, hard worker who worked for over 40 years at Cincinnati Milacron. He also worked for Jerry Haag Motors, Bloom Trucking, and he drove a milk truck. Harold was a diehard Democrat, and he was also a member of the NRA and the National Hot Rod Association. He enjoyed fishing, rabbit hunting, gardening and taking family trips to Gatlinburg, but his true passion was drag racing, and he won the Kil-Kare Raceway Heavy Championship in 1983, 1984 and 1985. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Harold is survived by three children, Scott (Stephanie) Miller of Hillsboro, Jason (Cansas) Farquer of Hillsboro and Amy Allen of Dayton; eight grandchildren, Andy (Jackie) Pridemore, Robbie (Kaylee) Miller, Kasyn Allen, Shaun Rodgers, Steven Rodgers, Kylie Utley, Auberie Utley and Macie Allen; nine great-grandchildren, Trent, Harper, Wade, Hayden, Ava, Kyser, Maddix, Elaina and Myles; sister and brother-in-law, June (Larry) Dye; sister-in-law, Aurea Farquer; brother and sister-in-law, Tom (Bonnie) Barton; a nephew, Matt (Mary) Dye; a niece, Mindy (Adam) Lohrey; and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith “Judi” (Barton) Farquer, on Oct. 24, 2022; and a brother, James David Farquer.
Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 2, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Turner & Son funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. following visitation on Friday, Feb. 2. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Harold’s name to Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County, 222 Oakland Avenue, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160 or to the Highland County Dog Pound, 9480 North Shore Drive, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.

I'm sad to hear of the news of Harolds passing. I always considered him a friend from our younger days of running around. He will be missed. I'm always sad to hear of the passing of a former classmate and friend.
