Terry Douglas Cole, 77, passed away Monday, Sept. 4, 2023.

He was a 1963 graduate of Hillsboro High School, a former member of the Ohio Army National Guard and an active member of the Danville Church of Christ. Friends and family were blessed with a unique outgoing character in Terry, a loving family man; he loved Jesus, classic cars and motorcycles (really anything with wheels!). Terry was in his element when cleaning, detailing and being “seen” in one of his vintage vehicles, which helped everyone tap into past glories and reconnect with cherished memories of yesteryear.

He is survived by Connie, his wife of 56 years; two sons, Richard Cole and Burl Cole of Marysville; two daughters, Tommie (Dennis) Mitchell of Belfast and Tara Cole Nagle of Spanish Fort, Ala.; five grandchildren: Liam Nagle, Ariana Nagle and Reid Nagle, all of Alabama, and Zane and Kiley Mitchell of Belfast; brother-in-law, Charles (Martha) Gorman of Peebles; sisters-in-law, Tootie (Tagg) Pendleton of Lynchburg, Felicity Elvie Cole of Porter Ranch, Calif. and Linda Shaffer Collins of Chillicothe; and many nieces and nephews, Angie Close and Bret (Marcia Michael) Malone of Danville, Melissa (Phil) Baker of Winchester, Joel Rosenfeld of Rock Hill, S.C., Brice (Crystal) Collins of Elyria, Amanda (Shanna Haybron) Collins of Chillicothe, Yoji (Phire) Cole of Northridge, Calif., Kiri (Sebastian) Popa of Beaufort, S.C., Debbie Norris and Michelle (Mack) Wolfenbarker of Belfast, John (Cindy) Gorman and Meghan Griffith of Hillsboro, Chad (Nicole) Richmond of Leesburg, Andrea (Donald) Tebbe of Fayetteville, N.C., Marla (Morgan) Boone of Lynchburg, Chuck (Cyndi) Gorman of Sinking Spring, Jamey (Heather) Gorman of Knoxville, Tenn. and Shelly (Eric) Davenport of Peebles.

In addition to his parents, Burl and Mary Wilkin Cole of the Danville community, Terry was preceded in death by siblings: Burl Wilkin (Joan) Cole, Mary Jo (Bill) Collins, Paul Cole, Diann Malone and Terry Collins and infant brother, Eugene Woodrow Cole; his son-in-law, William Nagle; brothers-in-law, Dick (Phyllis) Gorman and Tom Gorman; and one niece, Kim Rosenfeld.

Visitation will be held Monday, Sept. 11, 2023 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on at the Danville Church of Christ. Funeral service will take place following visitation Monday at 1 p.m. at the Danville Church of Christ. Darrin Sanderson will be officiating. Burial will follow services in the Hamer Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Danville Church of Christ, 4917 SR 138, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133 or Ohio’s Hospice of Fayette County, 222 North Oakland Ave, Washington Court House, Ohio 43160.
