Patricia 'Phoebe' Rhoads

Patricia “Phoebe” Rhoads, 64, of Peebles, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023.

She was born July 2, 1959 in Marshall, the daughter of the late Howard and Bernideen (Taylor) Rhoads.

Phoebe was a member of the Hillsboro Eagles #1161 and enjoyed drawing, hunting for mushrooms and arrowheads, flowers and cooking for her family.

Phoebe is survived by her children, Herman (Misty) Lightner of Peebles, Louise (Duane) Crawford of West Union, Jeff (Amy) Lightner of Amelia and James (Jill) Lightner of Belfast; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Pete Rhoads of Hillsboro, Andy Rhoads of Seaman and Joe Rhoads of Portsmouth; sisters, Alice (Dave) Dillion of Leesburg, Jessie (Kenny) Cox of Dayton, Jenny Rhoads of Hillsboro and Marie (Dean) Throckmorton of Leesburg; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded by her sister, June Hill-Rhoads; and brothers, Albert and Jacob Rhoads.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the Thompson Funeral Home.
