Cincinnati man sentenced in Highland County receiving stolen property case
A Cincinnati man was sentenced Thursday to over a year in prison after pleading guilty to receiving stolen property in Highland County.
As previously reported, Ryan M. Lacalameto, 27, of Cincinnati was indicted in July on one count of receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony. The indictment alleged that on or about June 4, Lacalameto “did receive, retain or dispose of” a truck while “knowing or having reasonable cause to believe said property had been obtained through the commission of a theft offense.”
On Thursday, Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Lacalameto to a definite determinate term of 15 months in prison, with jail time credit of 113 days.
According to a bill of particulars, law enforcement officers of the Highland County Task Force were advised that an individual was “attempting to sell” a truck to a confidential informant for $3,000. Investigators located the truck, with Lacalameto driving, in the Hillsboro area. When a local police officer activated his lights, Lacalameto exited the truck and fled “on foot into a wooded area,” where he was later found “face down in tall grass.” It was also determined that the truck had been stolen from Monroe, Ohio.
Lacalameto pleaded guilty to the charge in August, according to court records.
