AAA7’s Bowman named OSHIIP Volunteer of the Year

Kristy Bowman, Area Agency on Aging District 7 (AAA7) Benefits Specialist, was recently named Volunteer of the Year with the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP).
OSHIIP is part of the Ohio Department of Insurance and provides Medicare beneficiaries with free, objective health insurance information, one-on-one counseling, and educates consumers about Medicare, Medicare prescription drug coverage (Part D), Medicare Advantage options and Medicare supplement insurance.
Bowman, who has been an OSHIIP Volunteer since 2007, was noted for having worked tirelessly for residents in her 10-county region through her work at the Area Agency on Aging District 7. These 10 counties include: Adams, Brown, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross, Scioto and Vinton.
In the past, Bowman has also been recognized as Coordinator of the Year for OSHIIP in 2013 and also served on the OSHIIP Voluntary Advisory Board.
In her role at the AAA7, Bowman assists Medicare beneficiaries with help and assistance through a number of ways, including: Medicare premium assistance, program eligibility determination and applications, Medicare Part D applications, help with finding a Medicare supplemental insurance, assistance with general questions about Medicare and providing referrals to AAA7 and community resources.

Your local Area Agency on Aging District 7, Inc. provides services on a non-discriminatory basis in 10 counties in southern Ohio, including Adams, Brown, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross, Scioto and Vinton.
