The Whiteoak Wildcats added to their Southern Hills Athletic Conference record Tuesday night by defeating the Fayetteville Rockets on the road by a 14-1 score in six innings.
Whiteoak Lady Wildcats softball suffered a Southern Hills Athletic Conference loss Tuesday evening, falling to the Fayetteville Lady Rockets, 7-1, and seeing their record fall to 5-10 overall this season.
Two non-conference games on Saturday at Whiteoak High School saw the host Wildcats gain two victories over Nelsonville-York, adding to their overall total on the team and winning by scores of 6-2 and 12-2.
After a first inning where the Whiteoak Wildcats and Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs combined for six runs, the Wildcats went on to score no less than three runs in three of the next four innings played, leading to the visiting Wildcats defeating the Mustangs 18-6 in five innings and gaining the run-rule victory in Southern Hills Athletic Conference play.

The stage was set for both the Fairfield Lions and Whiteoak Wildcats to put on a highly skilled display of baseball on Thursday night, especially from the mound. The winning ways for the Whiteoak Wildcats continued on Monday as they shut out the Manchester Greyhounds, 12-0 at Whiteoak High School, improving their overall record to 9-0 on the season.
The Whiteoak Wildcats earned two victories on Saturday and in the process were the winners of the 2023 Deb’s Classic Whiteoak Wooden Bat Invitational held at WHS on April 8.
