Wilmington OSHP Post investigating two-vehicle fatal crash in Clinton County
WILMINGTON – The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash. The crash occurred on Saturday, July 29, at approximately 9:55 p.m., on U.S. 22 in Wilmington, Clinton County.
A preliminary investigation revealed a 2013 Dodge Dart, operated by Dakotah McDaniel, 26, Blanchester, was traveling west on U.S. 22 and a 2019 Kia Sorento, operated by Marisa Turner, 30, Harrison, was traveling east on U.S. 22. The Dodge Dart struck the Kia Sorento head-on.
McDaniel and his passengers, Autumn McDaniel, 24, Blanchester, Bentley McDaniel, 5, Blanchester, Avery McDaniel, 2, Blanchester, and Ryder McDaniel, 4 Blanchester, were all transported by ground ambulance to Clinton Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
Ryder McDaniel was transported by air ambulance to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Ryder succumbed to fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
Turner and her passenger, Robert Coffman, 42, Lebanon, were transported by ground ambulance to Clinton Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Wilmington Police Department, Wilmington Fire Department and Emergency Medical Service, Clinton Warren Joint Emergency Medical Service and B&M Towing.
The crash remains under investigation by the Wilmington Post.
