William 'Bill' Harry Holden

William “Bill” Harry Holden, 69, of Lynchburg, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023 at the Adena Fayette Medical Center in Washington Court House.

Bill was born June 5, 1954 in Milford, the son of the late Gerald Gene Holden and Kayo (Noda) Holden.

Bill was a 1972 graduate from Goshen High School, and he retired after working 38 years for GE in Evendale. He was a member of the Allensburg Church of Christ and a member of the Southwestern Ohio Farm Toy Collector Club in Hillsboro. Bill enjoyed helping as an assistant Boy Scout Leader and assistant youth baseball coach, and he really enjoyed the time he spent Go-Kart Racing with his two boys, where he was also known as the “Big Kahuna.” He was a family man who loved spending time with his grandchildren, and his loving dog, Noda, who was always by his side. He will be greatly missed.

Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years, Margaret Holden, whom he married Nov.  9, 1986; two sons, Christopher “Chris” (Kristi) Holden of Hillsboro and Jonathan “Jonny” Holden of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Kayla (Austin) Bumgarner, Cassie (Cade Johnson) Franz, Christian Franz and Kyler Holden; a great-granddaughter, Caisyn; his mother-in-law, Shirley Rogers of Dayton; and he was a loving uncle to several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth “Kenny” Holden; a nephew, William “Willie” Lawless; and his father-in-law, Leonard Rogers.

Gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2023 from 4-6 p.m. at the Allensburg Church of Christ. Celebration of Bill’s life will begin Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the church. Bob Stevens will be officiating. The Davis-Turner Funeral Home is serving the family.
