Wildcats shut out, run-rule Peebles

The Whiteoak Wildcats put together some strong innings on Tuesday night, and in doing so gained a run-rule victory as well, defeating the Peebles Indians, 13-0 in five innings at PHS.
WHS (2-1, 5-3) scored two runs in the top of the second, followed by a six-run third and five-run fourth for their 13 total runs that crossed the plate.
Chase Carraher was the winning pitcher, improving to 2-0 overall. In four innings, he allowed no runs on three hits and three walks, wrapping up the day with seven strikeouts.
Evan Brill pitched the top of the fifth inning in relief, as he allowed one hit and struck out one in his varsity pitching debut.

At the plate for Whiteoak, Trevor Martin and Brandon Lowe each finished with two hits, as Martin was 2-for-2 with one run and three RBIs. Lowe was 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBIs.
With one hit each were Jacob Burns (one run, one RBI), Kyle Marler (one double, one run, one RBI), Carraher (one run, one RBI), Trever Yeager (two runs) and Brill (two runs, one double).
“We controlled the controllables, worked the process and provided energy through leadership this evening,” WHS head coach Chris Veidt said. “Trevor Martin, Kyle Marler and Brandon Lowe were very productive for us offensively today.
“Chase continues to improve each time he’s on the mound, and it was nice to get Evan Brill his varsity pitching debut. As a big proponent of the ‘throw and catch’ game, it was awesome to have zero errors.”
