The Whiteoak Wildcats have opened the 2013 season with a 2-1 mark after three games, sweeping a doubleheader with Williamsburg on Saturday, while falling to the Paint Valley Bearcats on Monday.
In the twin bill sweep of Williamsburg, the Wildcats won game one by a 2-1 score at WHS.
In the first game, Gage Carraher, a senior, earned the win on the mound as he struck out 10 while allowing one earned run on three hits in five innings. Zach Docter earned the save. Docter pitched two innings while striking out three.
Docter, Tyler Williams and Justin Emery each had one hit, with Docter gaining a double.
In game two, the Wildcats won by an 8-5 score.

Jesse Bradds led the Wildcats with three hits and two RBIs. Luke Taggert and Carraher each had two hits as both batters had a double. Carraher also tallied three RBIs.
Williams, Tyler Roberts both chipped in a hit. Emery earned his first varsity pitching win, while Taggert got the save.
On Monday (April 1), the Wildcats lost by a 3-0 score at WHS.
Williams doubled, while Docter singled for the only hits by the Wildcats.
Docter pitched well, allowing five hits with seven strikeouts, as he went the full seven innings. Roberts had an excellent defensive game in left field, according to head coach Chris Veidt.
WHS will play again on Tuesday as they host Peebles in Southern Hills Athletic Conference play at 5 p.m.
