Wildcats finish tournament with loss to Sciotoville

No. 11 seeded Whiteoak had their postseason come to a close Wednesday, in the Division IV SE District Sectional Semifinals, as they fell to Sciotoville, 69-45 at Valley High School.

The loss by WHS leaves them with an overall record of 1-18 as they still have one regular-season Southern Hills Athletic Conference game remaining on Friday against Manchester.

As for the postseason game, it didn't have the best of starts for the Wildcats, as they trailed 22-9 after the first quarter and 36-16 at halftime following a 14-7 second frame.

[[In-content Ad]]In the third, WHS scored 16 points from Justin Emery, Brandon Ashbaugh, Jason Jones and Tyler Williams, but Sciotoville scored 21 points in the same quarter.

The final eight minutes saw Sciotoville score 12 points and WHS score 13 points to lead the quarter.

For the WHS fourth frame Emery, Ashbaugh, Jones and Cody McClure all scored points.

Ashbaugh led WHS with 13 points, including a 5-of-9 performance from the free-throw line for the game.

Jones followed with 12 points, including one 3-pointer in the second quarter. Emery finished with eight points (one 3-pointer), and Williams totaled with seven points.

Also for WHS, McClure scored three points and Nick Wardlow rounded out the scoring with two points.

No. 6 seeded Sciotoville was led by Tyler Gerald with 25 points.
