Taking just five innings to score 13 runs, the Whiteoak Wildcats defeated the host West Union Dragons, 13-0, for a shutout Southern Hills Athletic Conference win Tuesday at WUHS.

The Wildcats (6-2) led 4-0 after two innings, then in the bottom of the fourth exploded for nine runs (all with two outs) to complete their scoring.

"As a team, we reached all of our offensive and defensive goals, with the most impressive being getting the leadoff man on in four out of five innings," WHS head coach Chris Veidt said. "We forced them to throw 142 pitches allowing two freebies (a walk and an error), and scoring nine two-out runs."

At the plate, Tyler Williams was 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBIs and a double.

Gage Carraher followed with a 2-for-3 day with three RBIs, two runs and a double.

"Zach Docter was very business-like, throwing only 57 pitches in five innings," Veidt said. "Gage and Tyler continue to swing hot bats."

Luke Taggert went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI, while Kyle Marler was 1-for-2 with one run, two RBIs and a double. Jason Jones went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
