Whiteoak’s Carr, Morgan race at Division III regionals

For the first time since 2001, the Whiteoak Wildcats boys were represented in a regional cross-country tournament with Hunter Morgan and Atlee Carr running for the Wildcats.
Morgan capped off his All-SHAC and All-District performance with a 72nd-place finish and a time of 18:24 at Pickerington. He had the best time and best placement at regionals since at least the early ’90s for a Whiteoak runner.

Teammate Atlee Carr, also a junior, came in at 18:34 for 79th place and earning the second-best time for a Whiteoak runner at regionals since the early ’90s.
"These two have led the way from the get-go this year,” WHS head coach Doug Hughes said. “I’m very happy for all they have achieved. Hunter put in hundreds of miles this summer and helped him to run the best time at the league meet in my 14 years, and then again at districts and regionals.
“Hunter is great at practice and is a model kid for the younger kids to look up to. He has set his goals high, and next year he's going to be even better.”
Hughes also spoke about Carr and his season.
“Atlee has improved greatly throughout this season and ran the race of his life at Rio Grande to earn All-District,” Hughes said. “Atlee, also a top-notch kid, does an amazing job of staying on top of his game all the while being very active in many groups and organizations throughout school.
“We’re so happy to have two kids achieve so much in one year and can't wait to see what they and their teammates accomplish next year.”
