Whiteoak wins 7th straight game in victory over Eastern Brown
The undefeated start to the 2018 season continued for the Whiteoak Wildcats by gaining another Southern Hills Athletic Conference win on Tuesday by defeating the Eastern Brown Warriors by an 8-1 score, improving their record to 8-0 overall.
Whiteoak scored their runs in three innings, having a three-run second inning, a two-run third inning and a three-run seventh inning to gain the road win.
The Wildcats totaled six hits in the victory with Caleb West being 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, one walk and one RBI and Mason Lehr finishing 2-for-2 with two runs, two walks and one RBI.

Having one hit each were Yeager and Billy Oliver, with Oliver also forcing two walks and having two stolen bases.
“Caleb West and Mason Lehr were clutch at the plate,” WHS head coach Chris Veidt said. “The two big innings early and late carried us tonight offensively. Our kids were very situational with runners on second base with no one out, along with runners on third with less than two outs.
“This was not our usual hit parade, but a .541 quality at-bat average on a chilly afternoon is more than acceptable. Billy Oliver was outstanding behind the plate for us today.”
In the top of the second inning, the Wildcats had runs scored by West, Lehr and Evan Brill. In the third, runs were scored by Trever Yeager and West.
The seventh inning saw West, Chase Carraher and Lehr all add runs for Whiteoak with West finishing the day with three runs.
In all, the Wildcats totaled six stolen bases with Ryan Roberts, Yeager, West and Carraher also having one each.
Brill was the winning pitcher for the Wildcats. He pitched all seven innings, allowing one run (none earned) on four hits and no walks, while also striking out 11 batters.
“Evan Brill was dominating on the mound,” Veidt said. “This was one of his better career starts in my opinion, and that’s saying something.”
Eastern Brown scored their lone run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
