Whiteoak graduate Kiley Sosby named NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete for Bowling Green

A total of 14 Bowling Green State University softball student-athletes have earned Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for their academic excellence during the 2016-17 academic year, including Whiteoak graduate Kiley Sosby.
Sosby is a softball player at Bowling Green, entering her junior year.
To qualify for NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition, a student-athlete must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the previous academic year.
The Falcons' total of 14 honorees ranked second among Mid-American Conference programs and tied BGSU for eighth in the entire nation among NCAA Division-I programs.
The total of 14 student-athletes honored represents two-thirds of BGSU's entire 2016-17 roster.
The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across seven membership divisions. NCAA Division I, with 1,843 honorees, had the most student-athletes with a 3.5 GPA or higher, while 1,825 in Division III and 1,268 in Division II earned recognition. High School weighted and High School unweighted posted 751 and 609 honorees apiece. NAIA amassed 559 recipients and Junior College totaled 496.
Last week, the Falcons were named an Easton/NFCA All-Academic Team for the 2016-17 academic year. BGSU tied for 22nd in the nation among all Division-I institutions.
The Falcons wrapped up the fall portion of the schedule last weekend. BGSU had a record of 6-2 during the fall slate, and the Brown and Orange outscored opponents, 62-14, in the eight games.
