Whiteoak falls to Alexander in non-league game

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats dropped a non-league game Saturday afternoon, falling 50-30 to Alexander.

WHS scored 20 points in the first half and was held to 10 points in the final two quarters.

The Lady 'Cats were led by freshman Emma Wardlow with 10 points, eight rebounds, two assists and one steal. She was 4-of-5 from the free-throw line.

Courtney Cummings followed with seven points (one 3-pointer), five rebounds, three steals and one assist. Cummings was 2-of-3 from the free-throw line.[[In-content Ad]]

Also scoring for WHS were Sunnie Lehr with five points (one 3-pointer), Brittany Luman with four and Amber Gorman and Clarissa Johnson each scoring two points.

Luman and Gorman each finished with six rebounds. Johnson had two steals, and Luman added a team-high three blocks. Morgan Campbell had one block, one steal and one rebound.

The Lady 'Cats were 2-of-5 from the three-point line and 6-of-13 from the free-throw line. WHS totaled 37 rebounds, five assists, eight steals and four blocks, while committing 32 turnovers.

WHS will play again on Monday, Jan. 6 as they host Fayetteville.
