Sosby tosses perfect game; Lady 'Cats run-rule Ripley

It was a run-scoring kind of day for the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats, Wednesday, as they outscored the host, Ripley, 15-0 at RHS for a Southern Hills Athletic Conference victory.

Sosby was the winning pitcher, tossing a perfect game. In four innings, she faced 12 batters, striking out 11. She struck out the final nine batters she faced. Of the 11 strikeouts, nine were swinging strike threes.

The WHS junior ace struck out 91 percent of the batters she faced Wednesday, as the only ball in play was a fly out to the shortstop.

The scoring came early for WHS, scoring seven runs in the first inning, sending 13 batters to the plate.

Jaycie Parr, Alexis Jones, Kiley Sosby, Jayde Parr, Megan Pointer, Caitlyn Arledge and Ashleigh Harless all scored runs in the first.

In the second, WHS added four more runs, with Jaycie Parr, Jayde Parr, Hayley Nace and Arledge all crossing home plate.

WHS scored once in the third with a run from Pointer, and in the fourth, the final three runs were scored. Scoring runs in the fourth were Jaycie Parr, Sosby and Kayla Smallwood.
