SHL Golf Championships

The 2010 Southern Hills League golf championship took place recently, with the winner coming from West Union High School.

Tanner Huntley (West Union) shot the four-day low score of 143 to win the SHL golf championship. His scores were: 37, 36, 36 and 34 for the 143 total.

West Union teammate Robbie Pell was second at 153. His scores were 37, 37, 37, and 42.

Highland County's low score was Ian Adams (Fairfield) with a 160. His scores included: 41, 39, 40 and 40 for a fifth-place finish.

Fairfield's Tyler Campbell was seventh at 171 (38, 39, 51 and 43). Teammate Keith Fife was eighth with a score of 173 (41, 47, 42 and 43).

Whiteoak's Luke Taggert was tied for ninth at 177 with West Union's Trey Gustin. Taggert had scores of 44, 40, 45 and 48.

North Adams' Seth Sparks finished 12th at 179, followed by Nathaniel Miller at 181 for 12th. Lynchburg-Clay's Austin Fawley was 15th at 185.

The team championship went to West Union at 633 for the four days. Fairfield was second (685). Whiteoak finished fourth (747) and Lynchburg-Clay was seventh at 820.
